Gwen was born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Bowness which is now a district of Calgary. She started drawing and painting as a child. The only training she had was as a child she took classes at Tech which is now SAIT.
Other than those lessons she is a self taught artist. She moved to Airdrie in 1994. She paints landscapes, horses and other animals,birds, grain elevators, old brans, flowers and portraits mainly in oils and watercolors. Her work has been shown in:

Gwen won third place n the visual arts and crafts of the Alberta Senior Games in 2003 and 2007. Gwen became a member of The Calgary Sketch Club in 2006 and her work has been shown in their shows since that time.
